Visit to a typical Amazon Jungle family

Our last afternoon was spent visiting a local family who farmed in the jungle up the Amazon from where we were staying. They live off the land by the day. No food storage and collect water from the river let it settle in buckets then add chlorine and then boil. They had one bed that mum dad and the 2 children slept in. They grew bananas, papayas, cocoa bean which he ground into powder and we sampled and the most delicious grapefruit that we all slurped up.
Arriving by boat at the small family home. It was quite a novelty for them having visitors. They had cut heaps of Palm leaves all laid out as a path for us to follow from the boat to the dirt steps up the bank to their property.
The family home and belongings.
