SACRED VALLEY TO MACHU PICCHU

Today we transfer by bus to the Vistodome train and travel through this spectacular scenery following the famous Inca Trail as we go. The mountain scenes were just amazing through the train overhead windows. After arriving in Machu Picchu we had lunch then caught the bus to the bottom of the ruins......a steep winding narrow road with buses continually moving passengers in both directions. There are 7000 - 8000 people pass through there every day at peak time and around 3000 in the off season.  They control the crowds by giving you a set time to have your two and half hour visit around the ruins. We had such a great guide from the time we arrived in Cuzco right through to visiting the ruins and back to Cuzco. This whole visit through the Andes and Machu Picchu is overwhelming. The Incas for their time  were a very sophisticated race. Outstanding architects, so in tune with nature, great astronomers and farmers, artists, musicians, and the list goes on....very quick to learn. Such an interesting race of people.

We made it to the top.
